Default "Your case is currently nether review." What does this mean in layman'south terms?

My husband had his visa interview on the 21st of January; one of the documents that was needed was a Hong Kong constabulary cert which had non arrived at the embassy yet. The officer stated that he *would* approve the case that twenty-four hours Only could not practise so until the law cert had arrived, and my husband was given a 221g grade.

Fast-forward to today: the CEAC condition tracker still lists our case equally 'administrative processing.' An e-mail inquiry reveals that the police certificate has indeed been received past the embassy, just, as you lot tin can run across in the screenshot, our case is 'under review.' My married man was built-in and raised in Hong Kong (I've read that being born in a country that is non in the UK tin trigger boosted security checks in London), but is a British denizen.

I've called the NVC and they have no record of our example (it was filed DCF), and so I'm guessing the review is at a consular level. I don't expect anyone to tell me how long this will take equally it'southward impossible to know (the uncertainty is killing me!), but could someone here offer some insight as to what 'nether review' ways? Are they simply in the process of blessing his visa later on receipt of the police certificate, or is this full-blown administrative processing?

Cheers all so much.

Thanks all so much.

From what you lot've written it sounds similar the application simply couldn't be canonical due to a lack of a police certificate, hence the 221g. At present the document has been received, hopefully the example will have a conclusion made on it sooner rather than later.

The Police Certificate needs to be paired up with your husband's file and an officeholder has to observe the time to sit downward, review the file and new police document and so make a conclusion. It can take 24 hours or weeks. Only I would say the average for having a decision made one time the missing document is received is usually 2 weeks.

NVC is not involved in DCF cases, so they have never seen your case.

but could someone here offer some insight as to what 'nether review' means?

Very merely, it means the case is being reviewed.

Are they merely in the process of approval his visa after receipt of the police document, or is this full-diddled administrative processing?

Since the detect doesn't say "Administrative Processing", I assume information technology's but under review, and not the full-blown admin process you're thinking of.

Cheers so much, everybody. Yous'd think that if he was subject to additional administrative processing they'd e-mail about it, no?

Maybe.

Don't be surprised if you're checking CEAC and suddenly information technology changes from "under review" to "admin processing". Admin processing also ways just processing the visa. Don't freak out; just check in another few days and it should say "issued".

Yeah. All it means is it'southward sitting in someone's inbox and when he/she gets to it, a conclusion will be made!

As others have said, all the grunt work is washed and it shouldn't take long for it to exist reviewed. After all, the officer just hasto bank check it, review the file and make a decision.

There's null oyu tin do now except sit dorsum and look.

The CEAC condition Just changed to 'Set' and lists today's date equally a status update date. Looks similar he'll be getting his visa quite soon!
